Spent the past weekend in Wales - beautiful space to stay in, lovely walks in the countryside, toasted teacakes in tiny tea rooms and gorgeous girlfriends to share it with... How amazing it is to take time out to indulge in your friendships.

So, as an unofficial honeymoon (we are going travelling for 3 months very soon) we went to Glastonbury - with a group of about 30 of our friends so not exactly the most romantic of places but we had an amazing time!

Glastonbury is a great - and surprisingly cheap - place to pick up vintage; lots of sellers with beautiful clothes in a creative environment is sure to yield some great picks. I picked up a straw boater (£3) and a stunningly gradiated, pastel coloured summer dress (£5) which I cut a few inches off as it was originally was calf-length - I KNOW it's the new thing and I will probably regret cutting it short very soon but it really is the most unflattering length on me; well, we can't all wear everything regardless of whether it suits us or not just because it's THE thing to do now can we?!

About to be picked up by my lovely girls to whisk me away for my long hen weekend... which I know nothing about! All involved have been very good at being sneaky (should I be worried about this?!) and as a result I have no idea where we are going/what we are doing/what they are going to do to me - this could be dangerous. Excited about the FAB weather though, hooray! Will post the results on my return, eek!

New store open on Regent Street. Like visiting a treasure trove, delve into their beautiful clothing, jewellery and homewares. Situated on three floors in the heart of London in the Antiquarius building, this American imported shop is the perfect place to spend a Sunday.

leeds festival aka my weekend as a groupie

Spent the August bank holiday weekend at Leeds festival - lots of teenagers getting wasted, getting off with each other and getting rowdy to their favourite bands. Went along to support the boyfriend who was djing in the Oxfam tent, thanks to all those rowdy wasted teenagers for coming along and bopping along!

charity style

Charity shops in Bristol are brilliant! Trying to find something great in a charity shop in London is a nightmare I find (and also quite expensive) This is very possibly due to the fact that I don't really know where I'm going/what I'm doing there - if anyone has any tips I'd be greatly appreciative - but also as there are proportionally less people here to snap up the good stuff.

Favourite rails are...

• Old lady skirt rail - good for wildly patterned skirts in a horrible length that can be shortened easily with help from the trusty sewing machine


• Men's t shirt rail - oversize t shirts or vests that usually have lame/brilliant slogans emblazoned on the front


• Dress rail - usually has some absolute gems

Spent a lot of yesterday until the early hours of this morning at St Paul's Carnival; Bristol's annunal culture-fest. The carnival procession is a sight to behold with everything from milk floats loaded up with huge speakers to beautifully costumed dance troupes.

These bikes were costumed by a group of environmentally minded cyclists who rescue bikes that have been thrown away for scrap, vamp them up or remake them (with a little help from yours truly!) Have a look here... http://bikebeard.blogspot.com/

Just arrived back from the whirlwind that is Glastonbury. Having recovered through a well needed combination of food and sleep I am ready and able to share my best and most beautiful bits of the festival. Gatherings such as these always provide a wonderful spectacle of self expression through outfits/face adornment/hairstyles and 2009 was no different. Noted on the stylish were; head ornaments - think crowns of flowers (see previous post on whichgoose) and Bat for Lashes style pieces incorporating false animal skulls, still more flowery shorts and skirts, bleached denim, playsuits – it seems summer is destined to play host to floral for a while longer.

Stars flying the flag for style were Lily Allen in her stage outfit of purple 70s catsuit, slashed to the navel and very sexy, which she paired with a bright pink wig (an amazingly novel way of combating the rain which I will definitely be adopting next year. So much more chic than a mac or hat!)

Florence (of And The Machines) in black bodysuit with embellished sleeves designed exclusively for her by Topshop - lucky girl.

VV Brown in a structured dress with some serious shoulders; reminds me of something Judy Jetson might wear if she was a foxy, on-trend songstress in 2009!

Ah Natasha Khan, how beautiful you are! Lady Bat worn a sequinned bodysuit with feathered shoulders to wow the crowds at the Other Stage.

Best of the Blokes - Pete Doherty (I always love what he wears) in a military style jacket teamed with fedora hat.

I did plan to take some street style-style photos of those people I saw who were pleasing to the eye but I'm afraid that plan didn't work out - oh well, they probably wouldn't have come out too well anyway!
