Gackt Camui, known by his stage name GACKT, is a Japanese musician and lyricist. He was born in Okinawa on July 4, 1973. He is also an actor, a poet, and plays several different musical instruments. He was the lead singer for the band Malice Mizera before setting on his own solo career. In addition to Japanese, he has performed his music in English, Cantonese, Korean, and Mandarin.
Gackt is different from most Japanese men in that he does not have a problem with coloring his hair. He normally wears it at a medium length with the ends razor cut to provide added texture. Even though the hair style stays basically the same, he has worn it with black, brown, and even blond hair.
He tends to keep his bangs cut so that part of them are capable of covering one of his eyes, though they are normally parted to allow the eye to peek through.
The combination of his delicate facial features and his hairstyle make Gackt appear to be much younger than his 36 years. His work appeals to a wide range of ages, so he is likely to have a long and happy career.
